tumblr’s blocking system is crap.

It doesn’t actually block the person, it just blocks you from seeing their posts and stuff on your dashboard. Um, yeah, what?

I figured this out when I got bored and decided to actually count how many followers I had (I counted by 4s,) and I ran short every time. I was a little confused until it dawned on me that I didn’t check on the people I blocked (bots, fake accounts, etc.)

So, I went to my block list, grabbed a username, went back to my follower list and entered their username into the little box that tells you whether or not that user is following you. You know what happened when I pressed entered? It told me that user was still following me. I did it to another one, then another, and then another one. They were all still following me, even though I had blocked them ages ago.

So basically when you block someone on tumblr, you don’t block the person from seeing your posts, from accessing your blog, or from following you. Nope. It just makes you not be able to see them following you and reblogging your stuff.

They don’t even make it so they unfollow you. It makes it so you would automatically unfollow them, which doesn’t even make sense because why would I block them when I could just unfollow them myself without going through all the hassle?

That is not what a blocking system should be like, tumblr. Out of all the things you try to fix, the blocking system needs to be one of them.
